Former presidential aide Reno Omokri has said many young men were murdered and dumped in Ezu river under the watch of Peter Obi as Governor of Anambra State.
Omokri said this after Obi cautioned the police over the detention of Quadri Yusuf, the young boy who trended in 2023 for standing in front of his campaign convoy in Lagos.
The boy was reportedly arrested and detained on the accusation of being a thief and troublemaker.
Reacting, Obi said on X, "I sincerely appeal to the police and other agents of the government to always operate within the law and the rules and stop the weaponizing citizens, especially our youths, who need our care and love to unleash their talents and energy towards building a new Nigeria that is possible. -PO."
Not pleased with Obi's statement, Omokri took to social media to advise the former governor on how to really show care for justice.
He said, "Dear Peter Obi, Under you as Governor of Anambra, hundreds of young Nigerian men were extrajudicially murdered, and their corpses dumped in the Ezu River for crocodiles to eat. I have attached their photos in case you have forgotten, Peter.
"You are, therefore, not in any moral position to sermonise to the Federal Government, Nigerian Police or the Nigerian Correctional Service on the issue of acting within the ambit of the law.
"If you really care about justice, Peter, go and pay compensation to the families of the victims slaughtered like fowls while you were Governor and stop grandstanding.
"At least this individual is still alive and being prosecuted, unlike the hundreds of mothers who will never see their sons again because of your government's action."
