Reno Omokri has been nominated by President Bola Tinubu to serve as Nigeria's ambassador to a yet-to-be-disclosed country.

MyNigeria learnt that he and other nominees have been asked to report to the office of the Department of State Services (DSS) nearest to them for security checks.

Some have reportedly been contacted to provide personal education and work history.

Some of the nominees include Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, Okezie Ikpeazu, Femi Fani-Kayode, Shehu Sani, Femi Pedro, among others.

Omokri got the nomination almost two years after displaying heavy criticism of President Tinubu on social media.

He also staged a protest against Tinubu in the UK before the 2023 presidential election, which helped put Tinubu in power.

However, shortly after Tinubu won the election, Omokri dumped the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Atiku Abubakar, and started singing the praises of Tinubu and defending the President.
