Nigerian international Victor Osimhen has revealed that Galatasaray's 2-1 victory over Rizespor gives the team morale to overturn their 4-1 deficit against AZ Alkmaar in the Europa League.
The 26-year-old, who missed the first leg due to suspension, inspired Galatasaray to a 2-1 victory against Rizespor in the Super Lig on Monday, February 17.
The Super Eagles striker scored a brace to help Okan Buruk's side maintain a six-point gap at the top of the Turkish league ahead of Jose Mourinho's Fenerbahce side.
“I think it was a very important and very difficult match,” Osimhen told the club’s official website.
“We won, and we think we won in a way we deserved. I want to congratulate the whole team. I also want to thank our fans. This victory and their support gave us a lot of morale.”
Galatasaray will host AZ Alkmaar at Rams Park on Thursday, February 20, looking to overturn their 4-1 deficit from the first leg.
