Former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, has said his meeting with ex-president Olusegun Obasanjo in Abeokuta, Ogun State, on Monday was just a courtesy visit

MyNigeria learnt that the meeting took place at the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library (OOPL), Abeokuta.

Atiku was accompanied on the visit by former governors of Cross River and Sokoto states, Liyel Imoke and Senator Aminu Tambuwal, respectively.

Also in the entourage received by Obasanjo’s ally, Otunba Oyewole Fasawe, was the Senator representing Bauchi Central, Abdul Ningi.

MyNigeria learnt that the meeting between Atiku and Obasanjo held behind closed door and lasted for more than an hour.

Emerging from the meeting, Atiku spoke to newsmen briefly and abstained from saying anything political despite the barrage of questions thrown at him.

“It’s just a courtesy visit, please. I am not going to talk about politics,” he said.

Atiku was Obasanjo's vice during their administration which spanned from 1999 to 2007.

The former vice president is nursing presidential ambitions for 2027 and has been holding several meetings with political figures towards the goal.
