Borno State Governor, Babagana Umar Zulum has disclosed that some individuals in the region don't want insurgency to end.

Zulum, who has been at the forefront of the fight against insurgency, noted that these elements profit from it. He, however, failed to specifically mention the names of those profiting from the menace in the region.

During an interview with BBC Hausa, Zulum lamented that despite the success that has been chalked over the years, some people are working against efforts to combat the group.

He noted that Boko Haram members are now returning to the region after being flushed out from Chad.

“There are people who don’t want this insecurity to end because they will not be happy with that,” he alleged.

The governor called on people to unite and support security operatives to address the Boko Haram menace.
