Babagana Umara Zulum, born on August 25, 1969, in Mafa, Borno State, Nigeria, is a Nigerian professor and politician who has served as the Governor of Borno State since 2019. He has a background in Agricultural Engineering, having studied at the University of Maiduguri and the University of Ibadan.
Before entering politics, Zulum worked in various capacities within the Borno State Civil Service and academia, including as a lecturer and later as the rector of Ramat Polytechnic in Maiduguri.
