The senator representing Abia North, Orji Kalu, has dismissed claims that President Bola Tinubu is planning to introduce Alphabeta, a consulting firm, to Nigeria through the Federal Government’s tax reform bills.

During an interview with Arise Television on Monday, December 2, 2024, the former Abia Governor clarified Tinubu’s intentions with the tax reform bill.

Kalu stated that Tinubu does not intend to bring Alphabeta in as Nigeria’s tax consultant, as he did in Lagos State.

He explained that Nigeria’s tax laws, like others, are outdated and in need of a revamp for the nation to prosper.

“One of my friends called me and said the President, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, wants to put another Alphabeta in Nigeria like he did in Lagos State; that is not the issue.

“The issue is that we need to make amendments to our laws. I support that our laws, not only the tax bills, are obsolete.”
