A video shared on social media shows that counting has begun in one polling unit in Edo State, with the PDP taking the lead in that polling unit.
According to Channels Television, sorting and counting have begun at some polling stations, including Ward 002, Unit 21, Western Boys High School, Ikpoba Okha LGA and Unit 024, Agbado school, Oredo LGA.
The election was keenly contested by 17 candidates, with many supporters awaiting the final results of the polls.
Despite some mishaps during the election, some candidates and high-profile individuals who cast their ballots expressed satisfaction with the voting process.
Meanwhile, violence has been reported in some polling units, with police officers arresting some vote buyers.
