Edo Election: Labour Party’s Akpata defeated at polling unit

The Labour Party governorship candidate, Olumide Akpata, reportedly lost his polling unit in Ward 06 of Oredo Local Government Area.

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, Asue Ighodalo polled 41 votes, defeating his closest contender, Akpata, who garnered 31 votes in his own polling unit.

Senator Monday Okpebholo of the All Progressives Congress scored 19 votes.

Akpata, who spoke to the media after casting his ballot, described the process as seamless and expressed hope that other voters would have a similar experience. He also expressed optimism about the election’s outcome.
