Bukola Saraki picks a side in Edo election, gives reasons

Former Senate President Bukola Saraki has thrown his weight behind Asue Ighodalo, the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the upcoming Edo State gubernatorial election.

Saraki, a chieftain of the PDP endorsed Ighodalo in a message on his social media platforms.

The former Senate President served as the 13th from 2015 to 2019.

In his social media message, he described Ighodalo as a leader with “unquestionable integrity, unparalleled vision, and dedication to make Edo State thrive.”

He highlighted Ighodalo’s track record of driving positive change and expressed confidence that he would bring pioneering leadership to the public sector as governor.

This endorsement comes on the heels of other high-profile support for Ighodalo, including a recent endorsement by award-winning musician David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido.

The PDP candidate is hoping to succeed fellow party man, Governor Godwin Obaseki, who is rounding up his final term in office.
