Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Benjamin Kalu, has declared that the All Progressives Congress (APC) will defeat the Labour Party and regain power in 2027.

Kalu made this promise in a recent video, where he vowed to remove the current governor, Alex Otti, from office.

The representative for Bende Constituency revealed in the interview that he has informed Alex Otti that the next governor will be from the ruling party.

"This will be the last time a Labour governor will govern Abia State. I say it without mincing words. We are friends, we work together but I won't be the number six citizen of the country and another party will govern my state," he said in the excerpts of his video.

"The next election of 2027, an APC governor will be there. I have told him in person, I have told him publicly that APC governor will be the next governor of Abia State. How it will happen, I dont know but it will happen."
