Benjamin Okezie Kalu is a distinguished Nigerian politician currently serving as the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives. Born on May 5, 1971, in Agbamuzu, Bende Local Government Area of Abia State, Kalu has an impressive academic background. He holds a Master of Business Administration from Oxford Brookes University, a Master of Law in Terrorism and International Humanitarian Law (Distinction), and a Bachelor of Law (LL.B Hons.) from the University of Calabar. After completing his studies at the Nigeria Law School in Enugu State, he was called to the Nigerian Bar.

Kalu's political career commenced in 2002, and he has since held several significant positions. These include serving as the Local Government Chairman for Bende, Senior Special Adviser to the Governor of Abia State, and National Chapter President of the Peoples Democratic Party in Diaspora.
