The Oba of Lagos, Rilwan Akiolu has said he is not a member of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
The monarch made this known when the governorship candidate of the Labour Party, Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour visited his palace.
He was responding to a plea by a team member of the Labour Party candidate who called him to tell the ruling APC that the March 18 election is not war but a contest.
He said: "I am not a member of the APC o. Olori they have sent you a message, did you hear them?"
Meanwhile, Oba Akiolu has declared his support for the Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu of the ruling All Progressive Congress(APC).
He, however, praised Rhodes-Vivour for coming out to contest because he had every right to do so while noting that he projects Sanwo-Olu would win the election on Saturday, March 18.
Akiolu, who prayed for Rhodes-Vivour and wished him well in his future endeavours, maintained that Rhodes-Vivour vying was not wrong.
The monarch stated that he (Rhodes-Vivour) had a bright future, but that he would not win this election.
“Please, don’t relent after this contest but I am fully behind Sanwo-Olu,” he told Rhodes-Vivour.
