Following the violence that has continued to trail women in the country, Nigerian women are succumbing to self-defence as a means of protection from rape and sexual assault.
Others have decided to enlist in self-defence classes just to keep themselves from falling prey to sex-hungry men.
@ebelee_ advised women to strap up and take to the use of pepper spray, pocket knife and even lighters as self-defence. She said she was done with playing nice.
Women STRAP UP... pepper spray, pocket knife, lighter, blades...anybody can fucking get it since violence is the way y’all communicate. Let’s go there. You touch me and you’ll bleed. Enough of playing nice. If you wanna make life a living hell for me, best believe I’ll do same

But she is not the only one with this thought.
Other women agreed that it was the only way going forward.
Same at my workplace. They wanted to cut cake and I brought out a knife.

This won't still help much, Unless women are licensed to carry guns. Cos if you consider that when you get targeted by these guys, because they're stronger physically, your weapons will matter little. Its really that bad

Exactly! No one or gender has a monopoly of violence. Since people don't want to receive sense

I always go with tiny objects for myself.... it helps

I've never been an advocate of violence but it seems that is what it has come down to, I sure am gifting all my sisters pen knives... Arm and protect your selves if you can and try to stay safe, this rape nuisance is becoming too rampant

Recall that of recent, two women have suffered sexual violations which has terribly damaged them.
The most recent memory is that of Vera Uwaila Omozuwa; a 22-year-old 100-level student of the University of Benin, Edo State who was raped and brutally murdered in a church.
The second occurred in Jigawa state where 11 men were arrested for raping a 12-year old girl at Limawa in Dutse, the state capital.
On the eve of the weekend, 16-year-old Tina was shot to death by a trigger-happy policeman in Lagos.
