A Twitter user, @UgochukwuIrobi said the memories of the Nigerian Civil War are painful memories that would not go away.
He made this statement on the micro-blogging platform where the generality of Igbos all over the country remembered the fallen Biafran Heroes.
@UgochukwuIrobi added that the Igbos have forgiven but will never forget.
"This is a pictorial thread dedicated to our fallen heroes. We have forgiven but will never forget. Below is a video of an Igbo man captured during the Government-sponsored genocide," he tweeted.

Several tributes flooded the timeline.
For those who believe that Ojukwu should've sued for peace, he actually did; he participated in the famous Aburi Accord that could've changed Nigeria for good.

Unfortunately, Gowon due to lack of chivalry, failed to fully implement the resolutions. #ozoemena#BiafraHeroesDay pic.twitter.com/BRF4rJjcQS
For every child who died or starvation and raids , for every woman who got raped and killed, for our fathers, grand fathers who went to war and never returned. We remember you this day.

The struggle, the starvation, the slaughter, the scars.
We remember our heroes, people who gave their lives for a cause.
Today, we remember Biafra, the land of the rising sun.
We remember the ashes we gallantly rose from.#ozoemena pic.twitter.com/jkEs2N3cqj
The Biafran Story is one that can never end cause many untold narratives exist & before now alot of witnesses refused narrating their story but piece by piece we would always pick them up.The labors of Biafra's heroes past will never be in vain#ozoemena #BiafraRemembranceDay pic.twitter.com/LajnKlWSLy

#Biafra: Today we celebrate our Heroes, who had the vision of a better day, the courage to voice the vision and to inspire others, and the conviction to lead action in fulfilment of the vision of freedom and prosperity.#Ozoemena pic.twitter.com/g7HJliezrH
