The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, hosted former Kogi State Governor Yahaya Bello at his residence in Abuja on Thursday, January 23, 2025.

Bello, the immediate past governor, was accompanied by his successor, Governor of Kogi Ahmed Usman Ododo

The minister’s spokesperson, Lere Olayinka, made this known in a statement issued on social media.

Photos of the visit were posted, however, no official reason for the visit was provided. Speculations suggest that Bello and Ododo’s visit may be to form a new alliance with key members of President Bola Tinubu’s Cabinet.

Recall that Bello was declared wanted and later detained for allegations of embezzlement and money laundering of state funds. The court eventually granted Bello bail in the amount of N500 million.
