Ahmed Usman Ododo, born on February 7, 1982, in Okene, Kogi State, Nigeria, is a distinguished accountant and politician. He pursued his education in Accounting at Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, and later earned a PhD from the University of Lagos.
Ododo’s career began in auditing, where he served as the Auditor-General for Local Governments in Kogi State, overseeing financial audits of local government councils. His expertise in financial management and transparency paved the way for his political career.
As a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Ododo was appointed Auditor-General for Local Government by Governor Yahaya Bello before ascending to the role of governor of Kogi State on January 27, 2024. His tenure has been marked by significant efforts to enhance transparency, accountability, and financial management within the state.
On a personal note, Ododo is married to Sefiyah Ododo, and they have three children. His parents, Alhaji Ahmed Ododo and Hajiya Fatima Ododo have been influential in his life.
