Activist Aisha Yesufu has berated the former Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, for his comments urging Nigerians to be angry at politicians and protest against the difficulties in the country.

Amaechi, speaking in an interview with ABN TV about the high cost of living, rising fuel prices, and other economic pressures, questioned Nigerians silence on these issues.

The former governor of Rivers State said, “I expected more agitation, especially from the youth.

“I thought we would see protests in the streets, but it seems people are not expressing the kind of anger I expected.”

He also said, “You cannot have a situation where a group of people are mismanaging resources and expect citizens to remain silent. I am truly baffled by the lack of action.

Amaechi also expressed concerns about the elections being held in some states given the state of the economy.

“The price of diesel is at an all-time high, and even some of us are finding it difficult to afford it. Yet, the general public seems unmoved,” he stated.

Reacting to his remarks, Yesufu tackled the former Minister, asking why he was waiting for Nigerian youths to protest instead of doing so himself.

Sharing her thoughts in a video posted on her YouTube page, Aisha captioned it, “When Nigerian Youth were on the streets in 2023 to ensure a competent leader in Nigeria, where was Amaechi? My response to Amaechi, who is waiting for Nigerian youth to protest for him.”
