Former Edo State Governor, Adams Oshiomhole says he knows Omoyele Sowore only as a defeated presidential candidate despite acknowledging his works as a journalist and publisher of the investigative online portal SahareReporters.

The Senator commented in response to a question on the ongoing protest and some of the faces affiliated with it.

Sowore, a former presidential candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC) is one of the popular faces behind the #EndBadGovernance protest that has engulfed several states nationwide.

Speaking in an Arise TV interview on Wednesday, July 8, he said: "I know Sowore as a defeated Presidential candidate. And when you are defeated in an election, you wait for the man who won to take his time. Sowore should know this," he said.

He has interviewed me in Washington and I have met with him. I like what he was doing, he became one of the most authoritative forces online, I think Sahara Reporters. In my view, he was at his best but once he dragged himself into politics and the presidential election, he became a politician.

Meanwhile, Sowore and several other alleged sponsors of the protest have been placed on a watchlist. The DSS also disclosed that some bank accounts linked to the protests had been blocked.

The federal government has also directed the Nigerian Immigration Services (NIS) to arrest human rights activists.
