Fulham manager Marco Silva has heaped praise on Calvin Bassey following his remarkable performance against Liverpool in the Premier League.

The Cottagers stunned the Reds 3-2 at Craven Cottage on Sunday, April 6.

Bassey was phenomenal on the day, keeping Liverpool talisman Mohamed Salah at bay for most of the game.

Silva, in a post-match reaction, showered encomiums on the Super Eagles star.

The Portuguese manager believes the 25-year-old has all the qualities to become a top central defender if he can stay consistent.

“Calvin has all the skills to be a top central defender. He ticks all the boxes to be a top, top player. Now he has to be more consistent,” Silva told BBC.

Bassey has registered two goals in 32 competitive matches for Fulham this season.
