Tinubu will change DNA of Nigerian politics if re-elected - Atiku's aide

Demola Olanrewaju, the Special Assistant on Digital Media Strategy to former vice president Atiku Abubakar, has warned that President Bola Tinubu will change the DNA of Nigerian politics if he gets re-elected for a second term.

This was as he described Tinubu as being many things but not stupid.

In a post on X, he said, "If that man by any means wins a second term, the DNA of Nigerian politics will be forever changed in ways that not even the most advanced state capture theories ever imagined."

Olanrewaju has also been criticizing the appointments made by Tinubu, who defeated his principal in the 2023 election to become president.

One of such is the appointment of Folashade Adekaiyaoja as the Deputy Director General of the Department of State Service (DSS).

Reacting, Atiku's aide likened the appointment to a move against the interest of the north, even though Adekaiyaoja is a Yoruba woman from Kogi, a state in the north.

According to him, Tinubu's appointments only favour the Yoruba ethnic group.

He shared on X, "There is a small but growing sense across the South of Nigeria that every perceived anti-North move from Tinubu is a plus to them, even though those appointments have no direct connection to other ethnicities beside Yorubas, and even among the Yorubas it is streamlined."
