Controversial Nasarawa-based journalist Mukhtar Wakeel has expressed his opinion that a family can manage the N70,500 minimum wage if the man avoids having extramarital affairs.

In a post on his Facebook page that has sparked widespread reactions, mostly condemnations from Nigerians, he stated that the recently approved minimum wage by the federal government should be sufficient for a family.

"N70,500 minimum wage is manageable if you avoid extramarital relationships. I come in peace," he wrote.

He made this comment following reports that the Nasarawa State Government had approved N70,500 as the new minimum wage for state workers.

Nigerians on social media have responded to his comment, with many critiquing his stance amidst the economic challenges faced by Nigerians.
