The Nigeria Sex Workers Association (NSWA) has called on law enforcement agencies to protect its members across the nation.
Lamenting the constant harassment and abuse they receive on a daily basis, the National Coordinator, Amaka Enemo, made an appeal to address the situation.
Speaking to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Tuesday, Enemo said that recent reports indicate a disturbing rise in physical assaults, harassment, and extortion of sex workers.
She urged both clients and law enforcement officials to consider their plea and see them as fellow humans despite their occupation.
