Osimhen touted as game-changer in Super Lig title race between Galatasaray, Fenerbahçe

Turkish pundit and commentator Ertem Sener has highlighted Victor Osimhen as the main difference between Galatasaray and Fenerbahçe in the Turkish Süper Lig title race.

The broadcaster believes the Nigerian striker has given Galatasaray the edge in the title race not only with his goals but also with his attitude.

Sener emphasized how the 26-year-old praises his manager after games and even gives up penalties for his teammates, despite being in the race for the top scorer award.

Victor Osimhen comes out and praises his coach. He is in the race for top scorer, but he leaves the penalty to Morata. There is no such family atmosphere in Fenerbahçe,” he said, as quoted by Haber Sari Kirmizi.

Another commentator, Erman Toroglu, shared a similar sentiment, highlighting how Galatasaray players support each other—something he believes José Mourinho's side lacks.

“Galatasaray's Victor Osimhen and Álvaro Morata are more than Fenerbahçe's Edin Džeko and En-Nesyri. Not everything is about scoring goals. In Galatasaray, these players also help their teammates play. Fenerbahçe's players are always waiting for the ball,” Toroglu said on Ekol TV.

Sener further stated that Galatasaray would have fallen behind in the title race without Osimhen on the team.

“If it were not for Victor Osimhen today, Galatasaray would be behind in the championship race. You achieve good success with good players; it is that simple,” he said.

“Galatasaray has stars, but Fenerbahçe does not even have a clear first center-forward. There is no standout player who makes a breakthrough and takes responsibility.”

Fenerbahçe is currently nine points behind Galatasaray in the title race, with a game in hand.
