There have been disruptions in the ongoing election in Edo State at Ward 8, Unit 1, Orhionmwon, in Orhionmwon Local Government Area and Onigbe South, Unit 1, as voters protested the absence of result sheets.
In a video circulating, the voters demanded the election result sheets, but unfortunately, the officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) were unable to provide them.
Voices were heard saying, “How can we vote without result sheets. No result sheet, no election. We will not accept it.” A man also lamented, “They want to compromise the process but we will not accept it. We won’t vote until they show us the result sheet. We will not vote.
A man responded, saying, “They are bringing it.”
The displeased voters who had already queued up refused to continue the exercise as they lamented the absence of the result sheets.
It has been alleged that some political parties were planning to forge results.
The race for who will be the next governor of Edo State has been intense, with three major contenders out of the 17 candidates battling for the position.
The top main contenders are Olumide Akpata of the Labour Party, Asue Ighodalo of the Peoples Democratic Party and Monday Ikpegbholo of the All Progressives Congress
