Head coach of Benin Republic, Gernot Rohr, has disclosed the weakness in the Super Eagles team which his side will capitalize on when the two sides meet in the return encounter of the AFCON qualifiers.

Benin will welcome Nigeria to the Felix Houphouet Boigny Stadium, Abidjan, on Thursday, November 14, in what will be the penultimate game in the 2025 Nations Cup qualifiers.

The Super Eagles were 3-0 victors in the first encounter at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium, Uyo, courtesy of Ademola Lookman's brace, with Osimhen coming off the bench to add the third.

Speaking ahead of the encounter, Rohr, who is a former coach of the Super Eagles, believes the return of some of his players will be key in causing Nigeria some problems in defense.

“In our list of 25 players for the two decisive matches against Nigeria and Libya, we have the return of two players that we have followed and who have played very well recently,” he told Mega Sports, as quoted by Completesports.

“It is Serge Obassa in the list of three goalkeepers with Alagbé and Dandjinou. And then we also have the return of Lenny Piringuel who, with his new club, Rouen, is starting to find his mark. His liveliness interests us a lot. Especially against a Nigerian team that could have small problems in defence, we hope.”

With 10 points in Group D, the Super Eagles need just a point to cement their place in the next edition of the Nations Cup.
