'I know he's a Chelsea fan' — Troost-Ekong discusses Victor Osimhen's summer destination

Super Eagles captain William Troost-Ekong has revealed that Victor Osimhen will play in the Premier League next season.

The Nigerian striker has long been linked with a move to the Premier League, with several top EPL clubs reportedly interested in his signature.

The 26-year-old made a surprise move to the Turkish Super Lig last September after his transfer to Chelsea fell through on deadline day.

Osimhen has been in exceptional form, scoring 26 goals and providing five assists in 30 appearances across all competitions since joining Galatasaray.

With Victor Osimhen set to leave Galatasaray at the end of his season-long loan, Troost-Ekong believes the former African Footballer of the Year will finally make the move to the Premier League next summer.

“I know he’s a Chelsea fan, but I also know he’s had talks with all the top teams. It’s up to him what he chooses. He will fit into every team,” Ekong told TalkSPORT.

“I know Liverpool have spoken about getting a new striker next season. We will see.

“I’m also reading, like everyone else, that he has a clause this summer. When he went to Galatasaray, I think it worked out amazingly for him.

“I couldn’t see him playing there for another season or anywhere else but the Premier League next season.”

Top Premier League clubs including the likes of Chelsea, Arsenal and Manchester United are all expected to be in the market for a striker in the summer.

It remains to be seen where the former Lille striker will eventually end up next season.
