Some unknown gunmen have kidnapped an unspecified number of students from Green Field University along the Kaduna-Abuka Highway in Chikun Local Government Area.

Reports of the kidnap went rife in the media on Tuesday night.

The incident was confirmed by Kaduna Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, Samuel Aruwan.

The gunmen reportedly invaded the university and started shooting sporadically before whisking some of the students away.
