Gboyega Akosile, the Chief Press Secretary to Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has dismissed the attacks against his principal by some supporters of former presidential candidate, Peter Obi.

MyNigeria reported that Obi's supporters have been sharing a doctored photo of Sanwo-Olu, which shows him with a nose full of white powder believed to be cocaine.

This was as they labelled him a cocaine addict for criticizing Obi"s speech at John Hopkins University in the US.

At the university, Obi lamented that Nigeria now has more poor people than those you can find in China, Vietnam and Indonesia combined.

Reacting, Sanwo-Olu stated that such criticism of the country shouldn't be coming from Obi because he also contributed to the poverty level in Nigeria when he was the governor of Anambra.

Reacting, an X user, @Blacksanta91, said, "Oga go and put your face in more white powder, Tinubu has activated you so I don’t blame you. But allegedly you’re a COCAINE Addict, so I can’t take the opinion of a Drug Addict seriously."

@UchePOkoye shared the doctored photo of Sanwo-Olu and captioned it, "Even cocaine addict has opinion on Peter Obi."

Reacting to the doctored photo, another X user, @BarrChris434772, said, "The white powder is powdering."

When MyNigeria contacted Sanwo-Olu's chief press secretary concerning the doctored photo, he said issuing a response to such characters is tantamount to wrestling with a pig.

He said, "I saw it but we don't respond to such talks from people who cannot fight based on facts, people who cannot argue with you based on evidence. When you decide to fight with a pig, you will wallow in a gutter. That's why we don't take things up with such people. I can't respond to internet urchins."

He further stated that he would only issue a response if Obi himself spoke up.
