Human rights lawyer and activist, Deji Adeyanju, has said the supporters of former presidential candidate, Peter Obi, who are known as Obidient, are acting like extremists.

According to him, they are ever eager to insult anyone that criticizes Obi.

In a post on X, Adeyanju stated that the same Obidients freely insult President Bola Tinubu and other politicians, while rejecting the same treatment when meted out to Obi.

He shared, "Once you criticize Obi, they begin to insult you. To them Obi is above criticism but they criticize, insult and defame everyone. All the criticisms and insults of Tinubu we have all been doing before 2023 till now, who insulted us for doing so? I can never understand why Obidients act like extremists?"

This followed an attack from Obidients on the Governor of Lagos, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, for criticizing Obi"s speech at John Hopkins University in the US.

Speaking at the university, Obi lamented that Nigeria now has more poor people than those you can find in China, Vietnam and Indonesia combined.

Reacting, Sanwo-Olu stated that such criticism of the country shouldn't be coming from Obi because he also contributed to the level of poverty in Nigeria when he was the governor of Anambra.

This didn't sit well with Obidients as they attacked Sanwo-Olu by calling him a cocaine addict.
