Bayer Leverkusen star Nathan Tella has expressed frustration with his lack of playing time with the Bundesliga title holders.
The 25-year-old joined Leverkusen from Premier League side Southampton last summer and helped Die Werkself win their maiden Bundesliga title.
The Arsenal academy product registered five goals and four assists in 24 Bundesliga appearances for Xabi Alonso's side.
Tella only managed 810 minutes of Bundesliga action, coming on mostly as a substitute.
The narrative has not been any different this season, as the one-capped Super Eagles star has made just three appearances in the current Bundesliga campaign.
Tella has admitted that his lack of game minutes has left him frustrated at the club.
“It’s frustrating, to be honest. But I spoke to the coach. He assured me that I will get opportunities and that I have to be patient. When I get a chance, I have to show myself. I think I’ve done well, and I also think I’m training well. Now it is up to the coach to have the confidence to use me. He makes the decisions – and they work well,” he told German newspaper BILD.
