Reports indicate that two soldiers were killed by unknown gunmen enforcing the sit-at-home order in the South East on Thursday, May 30, 2024.

It was reported that the military men were attacked at Obikabia junction and their patrol van was set on fire in Aba, Abia State, by over 15 masked gunmen.

In a trending video, the assailants could be seen shooting sporadically before setting the military van ablaze.

A soldier later emerged, with a voice accompanying the video lamenting that “it's like he is the only one that survived; others have been killed.”

It was gathered that the gunmen operated with an SUV jeep and a Sienna.

The Abia State Police Command and the Military are yet to speak on the incident.

This occurred as the Indigenous People of Biafra ordered a sit-at-home in honor of those who died during the Nigeria Biafra Civil war.
