Former Super Eagles captain Joseph Yobo has tipped Nigeria to go all the way and finally get their hands on the long-awaited fourth Nations Cup trophy following the completion of the AFCON 2025 draw.
The three-time African champions came close to winning their fourth title in the last edition in Ivory Coast but fell short after the hosts staged a comeback from a goal down to win the final 2-1.
The Super Eagles have been pitted in Group C alongside the Carthage Eagles of Tunisia, the Cranes of Uganda, and the Taifa Stars of Tanzania for the next continental showdown.
Yobo, who was part of the team that assisted in conducting the draw, believes it is about time Nigeria goes a step further by winning the ultimate prize.
“We have a very good team. The players have been improving, as they showed at the last AFCON,” Yobo told Ojb Sports.
“It is never easy, but getting out of the group stage has not been a problem for us.
“We need to start well and build on the momentum.
“It is about time we go one better and get our hands on the trophy again.”
