Uju Kennedy-Ohanenye was born on December 23, 1973, in Nigeria. She is a lawyer, entrepreneur, politician, and film producer.

Uju made history as the first woman to run for the presidency in Nigeria under the All Progressives Congress (APC) during the 2023 general elections, although she later stepped down to support Bola Tinubu.

In August 2023, she was appointed as the Minister of Women Affairs and Social Development by President Bola Tinubu.

During her tenure, she focused on eradicating gender-based violence and enhancing women's economic empowerment.

Uju was recently dismissed from her position in a cabinet reshuffle on October 23, 2024.
