Tajudeen Abbas is a distinguished Nigerian academic and politician, currently serving as the 15th Speaker of the House of Representatives of Nigeria, a role he has held since June 13, 2023. Born on October 1, 1963, in Zaria, Kaduna State, Abbas has built a notable career both in academia and public service.

Abbas has a solid academic foundation, holding a bachelor’s and master’s degree in Business Administration from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, and a doctorate in Business Administration from Usman Danfodio University, Sokoto. Before venturing into politics, he worked as a lecturer at Kaduna State Polytechnic and later served as a Marketing Manager at the Nigerian Tobacco Distribution Company.

Entering the political arena in 2011, Abbas has represented the Zaria Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives ever since. He is recognized for his legislative contributions, having sponsored 74 bills between 2019 and 2023, 21 of which were enacted into law.
