Plateau United Football Club of Jos, commonly known as Plateau United, is a Nigerian professional football club based in Jos that competes in the Nigerian Professional Football League. Originally founded in 1975 as JIB Strikers FC, the club was rebranded to Plateau United in 1991. Notably, the name "Plateau United" was previously associated with their cross-town rivals, Mighty Jets.

The club secured its first major silverware in 1999 by winning the Nigeria Cup with a 1-0 victory over Iwuanyanwu Nationale, thanks to a goal by Donatus Iloka. Plateau United had reached the finals in 1993 and 1998 but had fallen short. They made their debut in continental competition in 2000 but were eliminated after their first tie. The team earned promotion to the Nigeria Premier League for the 2010–11 season after a decisive victory over Mighty Jets, only to be relegated the following year. They were promoted again in 2015.

In 2013, the club's feeder team was involved in a scandal, and suspended alongside three other clubs following a suspicious 79–0 victory over Akurba FC. Accusations of match-fixing led to severe penalties, with Plateau Feeders and the other teams receiving ten-year bans, and the players and officials involved receiving lifetime bans. Plateau United achieved a significant milestone in 2017, winning the Nigerian Professional Football League for the first time under the guidance of coach Kennedy Boboye.
