Dr. Jumoke Oduwole is a distinguished Nigerian jurist and academic, recently appointed as Nigeria's Minister of Industry, Trade, and Investment by President Bola Tinubu.
Born in Lagos State, Nigeria, she completed her primary and secondary education in her home state. She holds an LL.B (Second Class Upper) in Law from the University of Lagos, an LL.M in Commercial Law from Cambridge University, and a doctorate in International Trade and Development from Stanford Law School.
Before her ministerial appointment, Dr. Oduwole served as the Special Adviser to the President on Ease of Doing Business in the Office of the Vice President.
She played a pivotal role in implementing over 200 business reforms aimed at creating a more favorable business environment in Nigeria.
Additionally, she was the Executive Secretary of the Presidential Enabling Business Environment Council (PEBEC), where she coordinated policy development and business reforms.
Dr. Oduwole's extensive academic background and professional experience make her well-suited for her new role. Her work has been recognized both nationally and internationally, including being appointed as the Prince Claus Chair holder for Development and Equity from 2013 to 2015.
