Jim Iyke, born James Ikechukwu Esomugha on September 25, 1976, is a renowned Nigerian actor and a prominent figure in Nollywood. Born in Libreville, Gabon, he hails from Ogwugwu Village in Enugwu-Agidi, Anambra State, Nigeria, and is the only boy among eight siblings.

Jim Iyke attended Federal Government College (FGC) Kwali Abuja for his secondary education and holds a diploma in Banking and Finance as well as a BSc in Philosophy from the University of Jos, Plateau State.

Jim Iyke began his acting career in 1998 and has appeared in over 150 Nollywood films, becoming one of the industry's leading actors and one of the highest-paid by October 2013. In 2007, he founded his movie production company, Untamed Productions, and a music record label, Untamed Records, releasing his debut album "Who Am I?" featuring collaborations with Nigerian music icons like TuFace Idibia and Sound Sultan.
