Francis Ogbonna Erishi Nwifuru is a Nigerian politician and lawyer born on February 25, 1975, in Oferekpe Agbaja, Izzi, Ebonyi State. He hails from a polygamous family and had a humble beginning. Nwifuru attended Oferekpe Agbaja Community Primary School and later proceeded to Community Secondary School, Nwofe Agbaja. He then enrolled at Ebonyi State University, Abakaliki, to study Building Technology and Wood Work.
Nwifuru started his political journey in 2007 when he ran for a seat in the Ebonyi State House of Assembly but lost. However, he didn't give up. He was later appointed as an Ex-Officio State Executive Member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ebonyi State.
In 2011, he won the election to represent Izzi West Constituency at the Ebonyi State House of Assembly. He became the Deputy Chief Whip and chairman of the House Committee on Lands, Survey, Urban Development, and Environment.
In 2023, Nwifuru won the gubernatorial election in Ebonyi State, garnering 199,131 votes across the 13 local governments in the state. As the current governor of Ebonyi State, Nwifuru has been working tirelessly to promote the interests of his people. With his strong educational background and passion for public service, Nwifuru is poised to make a positive impact on the lives of Ebonyi State residents.
