Felix Morka, born on April 12, 1965, is a prominent Nigerian lawyer, human rights advocate, and political figure, recognized for his extensive work in promoting social and economic rights in Nigeria. He earned his LL.M. from Harvard Law School and holds degrees from the University of Jos and the Nigerian Law School. Morka began his career with the Civil Liberty Organization (CLO) in Nigeria, where he rose to the position of Legal Director, demonstrating a strong commitment to human rights early on.
In 1995, Morka founded the Social and Economic Rights Action Centre (SERAC), focusing on protecting social and economic rights through research, education, advocacy, and legal assistance. His efforts have had a significant impact on the human rights landscape in Nigeria, as he has been deeply involved in various initiatives aimed at improving the lives of marginalized communities. His advocacy work has garnered international recognition, with Morka holding roles such as Chairman of the United Nations Expert Committee on Development-Based Displacements and serving on the Global Reference Group on HIV/AIDS & Human Rights for UNAIDS.
