Faze, whose real name is Chibuzor Oji, is a well-known Nigerian musician and actor. Born in 1977 in Festac Town, Lagos, Nigeria, he is the fourth of nine children in a musically inclined family.
Faze initially gained recognition by winning the 1994 DBN Karaoke contest and later joined the defunct Nigerian hip-hop group Plantashun Boiz alongside Blackface Naija and 2face Idibia.
After the group disbanded in 2004, Faze launched a successful solo career. His debut solo album, "Faze Alone," released in 2004, featured hit tracks like "Faze Alone," "Angel Gabriella," "Miss U," and "Na True." He continued to release successful albums, including "Independent" (2006), "Originality" (2008), and "REFAZEd" (2012).
Faze is known for his unique blend of R&B, reggae, pop, dancehall, ragga, and soul, all with an African undertone.
In addition to his music career, Faze has also ventured into acting. He made his acting debut in 2011 with the movie "Alero's Symphony," for which he provided the soundtrack and won an Africa Movie Academy Award in 2012.
Faze has collaborated with international artists like Wyclef Jean, Beenie Man, and Akon.
