Eric Chelle is the current head coach of the Nigeria national football team, the Super Eagles. Born on November 11, 1977, in Abidjan, Ivory Coast, Chelle is of French and Malian descent.

He played as a center-back, representing clubs in France and making five appearances for the Mali national team.

Before taking on the Super Eagles role in January 2025, Chelle managed several clubs in France and led the Mali national team to a quarter-final finish at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.

His appointment comes at a crucial time as Nigeria aims to qualify for the 2026 FIFA World Cup
