Two Super Eagles legends, Ahmed Musa and Brown Ideye, may face off when Kano Pillars and Enyimba FC clash in the Nigeria Premier Football League on Thursday.

The game will take place at the Sani Abacha Stadium in Kano.

Both players were instrumental in Nigeria’s 2013 AFCON triumph and have had successful careers on club level.

Musa became the first Nigerian to score more than once in a FIFA World Cup match, after scoring twice against Argentina in the 2014 FIFA World Cup.

He also became the first Nigerian to score in two FIFA World Cup competitions, after scoring another brace against Iceland in the group stage of the 2018 FIFA World Cup.

The former Leicester City man is Nigeria's most capped player with 108 appearances.

He recently played for Saudi club Al Nassr where he won the Saudi Premier League and Saudi Super Cup in 2019.

Ideye has also had a success club career, playing for West Brom, Olympiacos and Dynamo Kiyv.

Ideye joined Enyimba in December 2024 after being a free-agent striker without a club since calling it quits with Kuwaiti side Al Yarmouk in 2022.

He's the third ex-international currently plying their trade in the Nigeria after Musa and Abdullahi Shehu of Kano Pillars.
