Barcelona Femino has confirmed their striker Asisat Oshoala has left the club's training ground to return to Nigeria.
This comes days after she helped the Spanish giants win the maiden UEFA Women’s Champions League.
It was confirmed by the club's social media handle on Tuesday, May 18, 2021.
The club said Oshoala was permitted leave for Nigeria due to personal reasons and it's unclear when she will return, the tweet said.
The 26-year-old who recovered from a knee injury to play in last Sunday’s Champions League final has netted 22 goals for the Catalan giants in all competitions.
The four-time African Women’s Footballer of the year award winner also helped her team clinched this season’s Spanish Iberdrola crown without a single defeat.
