Negotiations for Stanley Nwabali's potential move to the Saudi Professional League has encountered a setback after Al Ittifaq backed out of talks with Chippa United, ScoreNigeriareports.

The Saudi-based club has reportedly grown impatient with prolonged discussions over the Super Eagles goalkeeper's transfer.

Al Ittifaq are currently 6th in the Saudi Pro League with two matches left for the season to conclude.

Nwabali, 27, has exhibited impressive form, recording 10 clean sheets in 25 appearances for Chippa United in the PSL this season.

His prominence surged following a remarkable performance at the 2023 African Cup of Nations in Cote d'Ivoire, where he made history as the first Super Eagles goalkeeper to secure four clean sheets in a single AFCON tournament.

Despite Al Ittifaq's withdrawal, other clubs including Union Saint-Gilloise, Queens Park Rangers, and Kaizer Chiefs have reportedly expressed interest in acquiring Nwabali's services.
