Super Eagles forward, Victor Osimhen has cautioned squad members of the demanding nature of new head coach, Eric Chelle.
Osimhen gave the warning on the Obi One Podcast ahead of Nigeria's 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying games against Rwanda and Zimbabwe this month.
This game will be Chelle's first since his appointment as substantive coach, replacing Augustine Eguavoen.
Osimhen who is a senior member of the team says he has spoken to Chelle about what he hopes to achieve with the team.
“I know him (Chelle) from the previous AFCON with the Malian team. He’s a coach that loves to play and he really loves to fight,” Osimhen said on the Obi One Podcast.
“He’s going to be very demanding. He said that he needs me and the senior players on the team to work with him to achieve amazing things for Nigeria.
“But he said the one who does not run or fight for every ball will not play. He was clear with me. He said he can be a big brother or an uncle to everybody.
“But on the pitch it is business, if the younger players see us running crazy, they will do it also.”
