Super Eagles forward, Taiwo Awoniyi is match-fit for his club Nottingham Forest ahead of their trip to Sheffield United on Saturday, May 4.

His return is a major boost for the English side as they fight for survival in the top flight.

The forward missed the Tricky Trees last seven Premier League games due to injury.

Forest manager, Nuno Espirito Santo confirmed the 26-year-old returned to full training this week and is likely to face relegated Sheffield United at Bramall Lane.

“He (Awoniyi) was out all week. He started today with the group so let’s see if he has this positive feeling. I think he can help us,” Santo told reporters.

“He joined the team today, he had good feelings, we still have to wait for tomorrow to see how it goes. And if he feels okay like he felt today, I think he can help definitely with his experience, he’s a goalscorer.

“We are aware and we know that he’s not in his top level but definitely a helpful player for us in these final moments.”

Awoniyi has battled injury this season and has only started 13 games for his side in all competitions this season.

The striker has scored six goals and provided three assists across all competitions this season.
