A video of Rasheedat Ajibade, the captain of the Super Falcons learning the reintroduced national anthem, “Nigeria, We Hail Thee” has emerged.

Recall that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu signed a bill into law to replace “Arise, O Compatriots” on his first anniversary on Wednesday, May 29.

The change has sparked mixed reactions from Nigerians.

In the video shared on her TikTok handle late Wednesday, Ajibade revealed that she is already learning the new anthem and encouraged others to do the same.

In the video, Ajibade can be seen listening to the anthem and attempting to recite some of the lyrics.

In her caption, she wrote, “I don start to dey learn my own; I no fit argue abeg, as this one na him be naija problem now.”

Commenting on her video, a TikTok user, #adamstee35, wrote, “No worries. Before Super Falcons sing this one finish, opponent go done score five goals😂🥲.”

Another user, #chibuikeuzoh126 wrote, “I imagine Nigerian match vs. England. The anthem is on, and even Nigerian players don’t know it.”

Some schools in Nigeria have started reciting the reintroduced national anthem during their morning assemblies.
