Napoli shortlists 5 potential replacements for Victor Osimhen, including two Super Eagles stars

Despite signing a contract extension last December, Victor Osimhen's future at Napoli still remains uncertain.

The 25-year-old Super Eagles striker has attracted interest from top European clubs following his impressive performance in the 2022/2023 season, which saw Napoli win their first Scudetto title in 33 years.

Osimhen's impressive stats of 78 goals and 18 assists in 132 appearances have made him a highly sought-after player.

Chelsea, Arsenal, and Manchester United are rumored to be interested in his services, with Paris Saint-Germain also considering him as a potential replacement for Kylian Mbappe whose move to Real Madrid was officially confirmed on Monday, June 3.

After a disappointing campaign which saw them finish 9th in Serie A in one of the poor title defense campaigns, Napoli have begun preparations ahead of next season.

One of the changes the club is considering is a potential replacement for Victor Osimhen in the event the striker leaves the club this summer.

Among the list of players the club is targeting as per La Gazzetta dello Sport, are Joshua Zirkzee, Jonathan David, Bayer Leverkusen’s Nigerian striker Victor Boniface, Feyenoord’s Santiago Gimenez, Crystal Palace’s Jean-Philippe Mateta, OGC Nice, and Nigerian striker Terem Moffi.
