Although he was never crowned the Best African Footballer of the Year during his prime, Austin Jay-Jay Okocha undoubtedly left a legacy that will be cherished in Nigerian football for generations.

Renowned for his mesmerizing skill, dribbling ability, and technique, Jay-Jay Okocha will be remembered as one of the most flamboyant African footballers the world has ever seen.

Former Super Eagles interim coach, Augustin Eguavoen, is among the privileged few Nigerian players who shared the pitch with Okocha.

In a quick question and answer session, the former defender named the ex-Bolton Wanderers man as the best player he ever played with.

Okocha's career began with Enugu Rangers in the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) before he caught the attention of German football, where he made his mark during his stints with Borussia Neunkirchen and Eintracht Frankfurt.

He later moved to Fenerbahçe in Turkey, where he played for two seasons before joining Paris Saint-Germain in 1998.

The peak of his career came during his time in the Premier League with Bolton Wanderers, where he made over 120 appearances from 2002 to 2006.

At the international level, he earned 73 caps for Nigeria, scoring 14 goals.
